Pass With Care

Posted by the girls on Monday, March 28, 2011,
Today was a day that we've been looking forward to for a long time. We were planning to bike to St. George Island from Tallahassee (about 85 miles) and spend a few days at a beach house and then bike back. Unfortunately, we are not writing this blog entry from St. George...

We woke up early as planned and were on the road by 8:15 am. We hoped to reach St. George by 4 or 5 pm (or at least before the sun set). We took several short breaks to stretch and a little bit longer break near Sopchoppy....

Dr. Emily provided excellent medical care on the beach. After swimming in the refreshing spring water, Michelle's leg was looking a bit better. The weather was gorgeous and the park was hopping...

And the training begins!

Posted by the girls on Monday, March 21, 2011,
On March 17th, the three of us were reunited in the wee hours of the morning. After catching up on some much needed sleep, we packed our panniers, attached them to our bikes, and went for a 30-mile ride from Railroad Square in Tallahassee. We were able to follow the St. Mark's Trail for a bit, but unfortunately, part of it was under construction. After the ride, we stopped by Krank It Up and worked on our bikes. Emily replaced her pedals and adjusted her brakes. Michelle put on a front rack a...
