We took the day off today at Margie & Jason's house. They live in Carmel Valley, which is about 10 miles inland from Carmel-By-The-Sea (which is just south of Monterey). After eating some oatmeal, we headed to Monterey with Margie and her younger daughter, Ellie. Ellie is attending kayak camp there, so we dropped her off and then took a little tour. We gawked at the beautiful houses along the coast near Pebble Beach, did a little grocery shopping, and ate a delicious lunch at Thai Bistro II in Pacific Grove.

We picked Ellie up when she was finished and headed back to Carmel Valley. We spent the afternoon watching TV, reading, and baking cookies (chocolate chip and oatmeal peanut butter butterscotch chip). Margie made us a gourmet dinner of ribs, baked potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, and Gimme Lean sausages for Emily. With full bellies, we lazily lounged in the living room and laughed our butts off watching "Whose Line Is It Anyway?".

As always, it's going to be tough leaving tomorrow. We are so comfortable here with Margie, Jason, and their two girls. We know that we'll see each other again though, possibly as soon as in one week! Jason is planning on buying Michelle's bike at the end of our trip, so they'll probably come meet us in San Francisco to pick it up. Can't wait until then!
