Day 102: Woodward Reservoir

We definitely took our time getting ready this morning. We thought we'd leave Joseph and Mary's house around 7am, about the same time that they would leave for work. Michelle and Rebekah were awake at that time and said their thank-yous and good-byes. However, we didn't actually leave the house until 1pm. One of our mistakes was turning the TV on. We got hooked watching some stupid episodes of "Made" on MTV. Then we decided we were hungry and may as well eat lunch, so we cooked a bit.
Finally we got on the road. Luckily, the weather in the valley has been cooler than normal. So even though we had to bike during the hottest part of the day, it wasn't more than mid-80s. We really enjoyed the ride today. It was totally flat and through some beautiful orchards. We even had a huge shoulder most of the way.
We took one pit stop just over halfway and bought some snacks. We heard that the campground we were going to was a bit isolated without any grocery stores available. When we got back on the road, Rebekah immediately noticed that her front tire was flat. We found a thorn in it and quickly patched it up and were on our way again.
Our final destination for the day was Wooward Reservoir. It has many campsites available and lots of opportunities for swimming and outdoor recreation. Of course, we were happy to find out that there were showers here, too! Our site is right next to the water and right next to dozens of Canada geese (which means lots of goose poop, ick). It is beautiful though. We do wish the wind would die down. It's not as bad as Kansas, but our drying clothes keep flying away..
