So we are cooped up in a hotel room right now in Huntsville, AL. Since we biked two day's worth of miles yesterday, we took today off since the weather is not biker-friendly. The rain has been coming down all day with lightning and thunder on and off. We took a little walk to Wal-Mart and the Dollar Tree to get a few supplies, including ingredients for lunch. We decided to make tortellini. When we got back to the hotel, we started cooking inside with our little stove. Soon we had an 18 inch high flame in the middle of our room and the smoke detector was going off. Embarrassed, we tried to put the flame out as quickly as possible and take the stove outside. Luckily, there's a bit of an overhang outside our door, so we didn't have to cook directly in the rain. We boiled water for our tortellini and heated up the vodka sauce and broccoli/cauliflower mix in the microwave. It ended up being a delicious lunch. For dessert, we had animal crackers dipped in milk chocolate whipped cake frosting. Mmmmmhmmmmmmmm! We are starting to get stir-crazy and are looking forward to getting on our bikes tomorrow to cross into Tennessee. Fayetteville...here we come!!
