For our day off in Nashville, we had to get Michelle a new wheel. After 4 broken spokes in a very short period of time, she was recommended to get a new rim. Her current rim was cheap and not able to withstand all of the extra weight on her bike. We tried every bike shop in Huntsville, but nobody had anything in stock. So we went ahead and ordered a good touring wheel from a bike shop in Nashville. This way the wheel would be at the shop when we arrived. We just had to drop off Michelle's bike so they could put it on.

When we dropped off the bikes at the shop, Cumberland Transit, we were warmly greeted. The employees were all very interested in our trip. We also met Grant, a salesman for Swiftwick. He told us about his products and gave us each a free pair of socks! We will be testing them out and let you know what we think of them.

We took the bus downtown to do a little walking tour of Nashville. We decided to also do a tour of the Ryman Theater/Auditorium, famous for hosting the Grand Ole Opry and The Johnny Cash Shows for years. We were told by several resources that this was the best place to visit in Nashville. They were right. We saw so many cool artifacts and learned so much about country music, Nashville, and the Ryman.

For lunch, we took the bus back toward the bike shop and tried out an Indian buffet. It was sooooo delicious, but we all ate way too much. We walked from the restaurant to the Parthenon (a replica of the Greek Parthenon). We didn't want to pay $6 to go in, so we just laid in the grass outside. It was relaxing....a nice breeze, people playing sports in the field area, kites flying above us.

When Michelle's bike was all fixed up, we rode back to our CouchSurfer's house. We joined them for dinner: peanut butter and jelly, salad, and french fries. Dinner was at another community member's house. We were able to meet the 5 kids of the community and played for awhile outside.

After dinner. it was time for the Nashville Film Festival! Brent happened to have some extra free vouchers, so we took him up on the invite. We saw a collection of short films that were produced in the Tennessee area. We were so lucky to get seats because this show was sold out!

A special thanks again to Josh, Brent, Carlson, Rob, and all the other members of the community who so graciously offered us food, accommodations, and entertainment! We <3 Nashville!!
