We all had a wonderful sleep at Wanda's house and we came out of our rooms to see a table full of fresh fruit. We were eating breakfast and Wanda gave us another gift. Not only did she offer us dinner, showers, a place to sleep, and breakfast, but she also gave us a devotional book with a very sweet note and $100 to go towards our trip. We all just sat and gawked; what more could she do for us? We packed up our things and headed back to the church to pack our tents up and get our bikes set. We said goodbye to Wanda and all the church members that had so quickly become our friends.

We biked to Bowling Green about 20 miles away where we intended to meet up with the Couch Surfer, Adam, that we were going to stay with the night before. He and a couple of his friends are planning a cross country bike trip this summer too so we thought it would be fun to talk about our plans and experiences. As we locked our bikes up outside of a coffee shop in the center of town, an older man named Jack started talking to us. Spencer's coffee shop seemed to be his daily hangout and he was happy to see us. He gave us each a lucky piece of granite he dug up in a nearby river. As we were talking with Jack, Stephen, an avid cyclist just by appearance, started chatting with us about our trip. We gave him our website info and only hours later we had an email from him and a friend of his out west offering a place to stay once we get out there. How great! Anyways, we made our way inside, grabbed a drink and in walked a man named Meredith who made a bee line for us. He saw our bikes outside and told us how he had done a cross-country trip just a few years earlier and he had to come say hello. Kentucky has to be the friendly place we've been so far!

Adam came, we grabbed something to eat, and chatted about our experience. It was really great to talk about our trip in detail with someone who is planning something very similar to us. The cool thing about his trip is that they are all photo journalists and want to document cool and interesting people along their trip. They will have so many amazing stories I'm sure!

After lunch we still had about 30 miles until Mammoth caves. We rode through another set of rolling hills and finally made it to the national park. We booked our cave tours for the following day, made some stir-fry, and went to bed after an eventful day.
