We got up fairly early, boiled some water for our oatmeal, and packed up our tents. We found Sassy, but she didn't want our grapes. So we left St. Mary's River Fish Camp and headed to Laura S. Walker State Park in Georgia. We arrived after 37-uneventful-miles. The campground was situatued next to a little lake, but no swimming was allowed
(alligators). The ranger on duty warned us that some nasty storms were headed our way. The storms arrived at 5am and scared us into the concrete bathroom facility. We ran as fast as we could, but were soaking wet. We were soon joined by some other female campers who were also afraid of the dangerously close lightning. After about an hour, we opted to run back to the tents since the lightning and rain had died down a bit. We were all able to fall back asleep. We got ready in the morning a bit later than usual and had to pack up all of gear soaking wet (not fun).
