Today was the most gorgeous day of biking we've experienced thus far. The winds were minimal and the climbing was very gradual. The scenery though was spectacular! We left the KOA and started out with a huge downhill. The rest of the day was a gradual climb, but the road stayed along the Arkansas River the entire time. We saw people whiteater rafting and fly fishing at various spots in the river. What a beautiful sight!
The last few miles to our campground (Wilderness Expeditions) in Salida were suddenly super windy, but we made it! We took hot showers and relaxed for a bit. We got some supplies at the Wal-Mart across the street from our campground (the most gorgeous Wal-Mart we've seen so far...check photo album).For dinner, we walked to Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant (it had been about 4 days since we had Mexican, so we were overdue). We walked back and enjoyed a tub of Heath ice cream. Yum!!
