We are very glad that we decided to take the day off. The winds were definitely gusting up to 50 mph! We stayed at the KOA until check-out time. Then we headed over to the cheap hotels (almost the same price as the KOA). It was just a 3- mile ride, mostly downhill. After stuffing our bikes and gear in the room, the laziness set in. We moved every so often to wallk to the convenient store to buy snacks and drinks. Also, Michelle had to stop back at the bike shop. The new derailleur they put on worked in reverse (shifting down actually shifted up and vice versa). Luckily, they were able to find a new derailleur that worked the same way as her old one and they installed it for no extra charge.
So, we think today was definitely our laziest day so far. We did as little activity as possible; unless you count pressing buttons on the TV remote and turning in your sleep as exercise! This means that we should be ready for tomorrow - 78 miles to Eureka - 4 passes - no towns/services along the way. Good luck to us!!
