On Saturday, we arrived in Jacksonville and stayed at a relative's house near Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island. We are so grateful to have stayed in the most AMAZING house ever. Please check out our Picasa albums to see photos of this Indonesian-inspired abode. After exploring the island a bit, we met Sally, a fellow biker. She and her brother will be doing a trans-America trip starting a couple of weeks after us. It was great to hear about Sally's prior bike touring experiences. She had lots of advice for us amateurs! After talking to Sally, we enjoyed a gorgeous sunset and ate dinner at The Surf restaurant. We are hoping the veggie sub, fried shrimp, whitefish, and mahi mahi sandwich will fuel us for the 42 miles we will face tomorrow. Thanks again Paul & Mary Ann!!
